We then show you up to ten named businesses that serve your area, the exact details they will receive and how they may contact you. Only the businesses you approve receive your request.

It stops spam and fake requests from reaching local businesses, and means every request comes from a real, reachable person. The code expires after a few minutes, and verifying does not share your number with anyone.

Yes. Open the business's profile and choose Request a quote. Only that business can receive your request. Profiles also show any phone, email and website the business has published.

Yes, at any time from My requests. Withdrawing stops any messages still waiting to be sent and closes the businesses' access. Businesses that already received it are asked to delete your details.

No. We check public registers, but a badge is not an endorsement or a guarantee of the quality of work. Any contract is between you and the business. Always agree the price, scope and terms in writing before work starts.

No. We are a directory publisher and do not give financial, mortgage, insurance or investment advice. If you are looking for a regulated adviser, check their authorisation on the FCA Financial Services Register before you engage them.

Unclaimed: created from Companies House records and not yet managed by the business. Claimed: the business manages its own listing. Verified: our team has checked Companies House status and, for regulated services, the relevant professional register. Verified Pro: all Verified checks plus a paid subscription for priority placement. The trust information shown to customers is the same for Verified and Verified Pro.

No. A subscription only changes where a listing appears in a category. It never changes the checks a business must pass, its rating or which reviews are shown.

Company status is re-checked against Companies House every week. If a company is dissolved or no longer matches our records, the listing is sent back to our team for review.

Tell us through the Contact page with the business name and what is incorrect. We review every report and correct or remove information that is inaccurate.

Only a customer who sent a request through Totabiz and then confirmed, on their request page, that they worked with the business. We send a review invitation a couple of days later. There is no open review form.

No. Reviews that pass moderation are published whether positive or negative, and a business cannot pay or ask us to hide them. A business that believes a review is fake or abusive can report it through the Contact page, and an administrator decides.

Every review is tied to a real request from a verified phone number and a confirmed interaction, and every review is moderated before it is published. This follows the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, which bans fake reviews and the concealment of negative ones.

A standard listing is free, and we take no commission on work you win through Totabiz. Verified businesses can add the optional Verified Pro plan, which shows the Verified Pro badge and lists them, labelled as promoted, above other businesses on category pages. It never changes who receives a customer's request. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Requests appear in your business inbox and are sent to your private alert email and mobile. These alert details are never shown on your public profile.

You are told the request was withdrawn and asked to delete the customer's details. Your inbox records when you confirm the deletion.

Open Billing for your business. Payments are handled by Stripe. A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and your listing stays published.

With a one-time code sent to your mobile number. We do not use passwords.

No. We share your details only with the businesses you approve and with the service providers we use to run Totabiz, such as SMS and email delivery and payment processing. See our Privacy Notice.

Only the cookies needed to keep you signed in, protect forms and remember your display theme. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our Cookie Policy lists each one.

Review invitations include an unsubscribe link. Messages you need, such as sign-in codes and updates about your own requests, are still sent.

Sign in and open Privacy and data. You can download a copy of your data or erase your account there. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
